Settings & Account Essentials
The pages that control your account — notifications, privacy, contact visibility, preferences, and password.
What it is
Settings control your account: Notifications (which emails you get), Privacy (who sees your phone and email, how visible your profile is, who can message you), Password & Account (change password, pause your account, delete it), Client Preferences (preferred services, budget range, language), and, for contractors, Verifications.
Why it matters
Control you don’t notice until you need it. Your phone number and email are hidden by default — you choose to show them. You decide who can message you. You can pause your account instead of deleting it. A two-minute pass when you join saves a lot of friction later.
How to use it
- 1Open Settings from your account menu.
- 2Set Notifications — choose which emails you want.
- 3Set Privacy — decide who sees your phone and email and who can message you.
- 4Set your contact visibility and, for contractors, your availability.
- 5Set or change your password under Password & Account.
Common questions
- Is my phone number visible by default?
- No. Phone and email are private until you choose to show them.
- Can I take a break without deleting my account?
- Yes. You can pause your account from Password & Account and come back later.
